2012 Jamis Dragon 650B Built for serious trail riding enthusiasts. Last year Jamis introduced the first 650B Mountain Bike Prototype. The size was measured somewhere between a 29er and a 26”. Riders Loved it! It was a hit amongst serious trail riders. Major benefits included quicker, nimbler handling compared to 29er setups, also the bigger wheels meant better climbing compared to 26” wheels, not to mention faster speeds. The Dragon features a brand new 650B Reynolds steel air-hardened frame. It has Reinforced head tube collars, double-butted cromo stays all around. The frame’s stiff, totally responsive, and it has absolutely no flex. Perfect for trail riding! And the White Brothers 650B Suspension Fork is awesome on this bike! 120mm travel, Fully adjustable Aura damping, compression, rebound and threshold adjustors with lightweight magnesium lowers. It Rolls on American Classic’s New 650B Cross-Country disc wheelset. Laced on American Classic’s top of the line AC225 hubs. The 15mm thru-axle up front is a nice touch. It features the trail specific Shimano SLX component group, with Avid Elixir3 hydraulic disc brakes. Other components include the FSA’s Orbit Headset, WTB’s Silvarado Saddle, Syncros Seatpost, Handlebar and Stem. WOW! The ride is Amazing! There’s definitely a noticeable increase in speed compared to 26” models. And The Torque Response is outstanding! It’s unlike any setup on the market right now. Jamis really hit the nail on the head with this one! 650B FTW! The 650B is a totally new concept, it’s pretty expensive.Hopefully in the next year or so we’ll see lower prices.

Tapered sidewalls, double welded; it’s the prefered rim by Freestyle and Downhill MTB riders because of its strength. Aaron has it laced to a SRAM X7 Disc hub with a Shimano XT ICE Rotor. GT Aggressor 2.0 The Aggressor’s a really good entry level MTB it’s centered around GT’s famous super stout triple triangle frame. It has a really good feel to it - easy to ride, durable feel, nice cup style saddle. And Suntour SR63 fork’s the right choice on this bike - feels good, plus it has a good amount of preload for when your hopping curbs or stumps. GT built the Aggressor for riders just getting into the MTB sport. Casual town riders would also find it ideal. It has a lot of potential - think rear trunk mounts, fender mounts front and rear. All built on an awesome frame. Come take it for a ride!

Grampian Challenge 20 & 40 Mile Bike Race

October 1, 2011 - Saturday
The Grampian Challenge will be a culmination off all the things you like about racing your bike in beautiful scenery of Michigan in the Fall. It’s a 40 or 20 mile ramble over dirt roads, two tracks, single track, and rail trail. The intent is the ultimate fall bike race combining varied riding surfaces, technical challenges, scenic roads, and some decent southeast Michigan hills. Sweet!

Bike builder Slingshot of Grand Rapids is letting the shop demo a few of their Mountain Bikes. the 26 and the big 29er! Slingshots have been on the scene for some 20 years, the frame design is claimed to be one of the best full suspension MTBs; Long history with a list of championship trophies to back it up. Recently they’ve been making beefier MTBs. So We’re going to demoing these real soon.

Jamis Exile III 29er built on a stealthy-light Jamis 2 frame. For this year Jamis revisited some of the finer frame details, shaved off some of weight, reinforced the contact points and left the paint in the can.. Beautiful, lightweight unpainted sleek clear-coat Exile 7005 aluminum frame. The Exile frame makes a really good sporty tough, nimble ride. probably the best 29er MTB experience for this 2010-2011 season. Cool rounded rounded-back handelbars with Cork Ergo grips [sold at the shop].

Jamis focused the details on extra lightweight components. The Exile3 is bult with a highly efficient, lightweight Rock Shox Recon Air fork with PopLoc cable locker mounted on the handlebar.. So you could lock the fork right from the handlebar which is neat. Lightweight Avid Elixir 3 Hydraulic disc brakes with Center Lock rotors. WTB super gripy all terrain tires. FSAs new Super Compact & Lightweight hollow splined crankset. low climbing gears. Extra lightweight gold chain

this bike is surprisingly lightweight I like it’s overall stance, feels like a 26inch. Rides nimble sleek and super stout for a 29er. Awesome Bike.
