TOUR DE TROIT 2012 : SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH
The 11th Annual Tour de Troit is a bike ride that rides some of the city’s historic areas, takes in many of its most breathtaking sights, and provides bicyclists a unique opportunity to legally (with police escort) “take over” the streets of Motown.
The Tour de Troit is offering riders two options. The first — and primary — will be a leisurely ride of 25-ish miles with police escort and road closures. The second option is intended for extremely experienced cyclists. It is a metric century (62 miles) that will not include police escort. Both rides will be sweeper- and SAG-supported. RIDE YO BIKE
Sep 7th WJR’s “Destination 313” did a radio spot about the 5,000 person+ ride. Where the ride will be headed, where its stops - lots of cool information about the event. Kelli Kavanaugh, wheelhouse Detroit, talks about the rides history and the future of the event and about Detroit cycling in general…
Destination 313 is dedicated to showcasing Detroit’s jewels and improving the region through thoughtful conversations with those committed to seeing Detroit’s revitalization. The show features business leaders, community advocates and everyday citizens who are enthusiastic and passionate for taking the lead in our city’s transformation.
